The V9S1 and V5C are brass LPG cylinder valves developed for cylinder manufacturers, gas filling companies and LPG distributors serving African markets. Both models combine a durable brass valve body with a coated aluminum handwheel, providing convenient manual operation while helping reduce the overall weight of the valve assembly.
Among the many LPG cylinder valve types used in regional gas distribution systems, these two models offer different body dimensions to suit different cylinder necks, valve guards and regulator arrangements.
The V9S1 features a larger body and a longer threaded inlet, making it suitable for customers whose cylinder design requires additional installation length. The V9S1 functions as both a shut-off device and a gas cylinder control valve. Its handwheel allows the user to open or close the LPG flow, while the integrated pressure-relief device provides an additional safety function if abnormal internal pressure develops.
The 375 psi value refers to the safety relief setting. It should not be interpreted as the normal gas outlet pressure or the regulated pressure supplied to an appliance.
Compact V5C Alternative
The V5C is another valve option for LPG cylinders supplied to African markets. Compared with the V9S1, it has a smaller overall body and a shorter threaded section, making it suitable for customers requiring a compact valve geometry.
Its brass-body and aluminum-handwheel construction provides a practical balance between durability, corrosion resistance and operating convenience.
