Step-by-Step Connection Process of Gas Cylinder Stove And Accessory
Prepare the Cylinder: Ensure the cylinder valve is completely closed (turned clockwise) and remove any safety cap or seal.
Attach the Hose to the Stove: Insert one end of the gas hose onto the gas inlet nozzle on the back of the stove. Secure it tightly using a hose clamp and a screwdriver.
Attach the Hose to the Regulator: Connect the other end of the gas hose to the outlet nozzle of the pressure regulator. Secure it firmly with another hose clamp.
Connect the Regulator to the Cylinder: Fasten the regulator to the gas cylinder valve. Depending on your cylinder type, this will either screw on (often a left-handed thread) or clip into place. Hand-tighten until snug; avoid over-tightening.
Leak Test (Crucial Step): Open the gas cylinder valve. Brush a mixture of liquid soap and water onto all connections (the cylinder valve, regulator, and both ends of the hose). If you see bubbles or foam forming, gas is leaking. Immediately turn off the cylinder valve and tighten the connections. Repeat the test until no bubbles appear.
Ignite the Stove: Once the connections are proven to be leak-free, you can safely turn the cylinder valve on. Turn the stove's control knob to the "Ignite" or high position and use an external lighter or built-in auto-igniter to start the flame.

Tips And Tricks For Cooking With Gas

Gas appliances require sufficient ventilation for safe operation; therefore only use your device outdoors or in very well ventilated spaces.
Do a gas leak test before using your braai. This is very easy to do using soap and water. You can spread some soapy water on the couplings of the gas hose and If bubbles arise, there may be a gas leak. If this happens, immediately turn off the gas supply on your cooker or on the cylinder. Check the connections and do the gas leak test again. Important: Never use your braai or gas canister if it is leaking
Always close the gas supply of the gas cylinder first, and then the braai.
Use a Quick Release to (dis) connect your gas hose quickly and safely. With this tool, you simply click the gas hose on/off your braai.
