Why Ventilation Matters
|
LPG vapour is heavier than air and can collect in low or poorly ventilated areas following a leak. Open side grilles allow ambient air to move through the cargo area. During outdoor handling and transportation, this passive natural ventilation supports gas dispersion more effectively than a fully enclosed cargo compartment. Ventilation is one part of a complete transport-safety system. It does not: 1. Prevent a cylinder or valve from leaking 2. Make LPG non-flammable 3. Eliminate fire or explosion hazards 4. Replace cylinder and valve inspection 5. Replace suitable load restraint 6. Guarantee regulatory approval For this reason, the product should be described as a ventilated transport container rather than an explosion-proof container.

Main Features of Our Cylinder Shipping Containers
1. Open Side-Grille Design
Both long sides use steel grilles instead of solid sheet-metal walls, providing a large open area for passive ventilation and allowing easier visual observation of the cargo space.
2. Welded Steel Frame
The container is built around a welded steel frame. Steel grade, structural sections, welding requirements and surface treatment are confirmed according to the approved project specification.
3. Cargo Access
Access doors can be arranged according to the intended loading method. Door position, opening direction, locking system and internal clearance should be confirmed before production.
4. Customised Dimensions
External and internal dimensions can be coordinated according to:
- Cylinder dimensions and weight
- Required loading quantity
- Vehicle or chassis dimensions
- Loading and unloading method
- Intended road, rail or sea transportation
5. Surface Protection
Painted, powder-coated or other corrosion-protection finishes can be discussed according to the climate and operating environment.

Cylinder Loading and Restraint
Cylinders must be secured so that they cannot roll, fall or move excessively during normal transportation, cornering, acceleration or emergency braking.
Depending on the approved design, the restraint system may use:
These features should not be assumed to be standard. The exact system must be shown in the approved drawing and quotation.
The appropriate arrangement depends on cylinder diameter, height, filled weight, quantity, orientation and transport method.
A final loading capacity cannot be confirmed solely from the external dimensions of the container.
Customised Specialised Containers
LUZHEN can coordinate specialised containers according to the customer's cylinder and transportation requirements.
Before preparing a proposal, the following information should be provided:

Inspection and Documentation
Depending on the agreed scope, inspection can include:
- Overall dimensional inspection
- Weld appearance inspection
- Door and locking-function checks
- Ventilation-opening inspection
- Surface-coating inspection
- Verification of specified lashing points
- Identification and marking checks
- Review against the approved production drawing
Available documents can be agreed before production and may include drawings, material records, dimensional reports, welding records and coating inspection records.
Request a Technical Proposal
Send us your cylinder dimensions, filled weight, target loading quantity, transport mode and available vehicle or chassis dimensions.
LUZHEN will coordinate a preliminary layout and commercial proposal based on the confirmed requirements.
